The five-year physiotherapy degree, and the one paramedical course where NEET has been put back a year.

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and at least 50% in those three together, from any recognised Indian board or the National Open School. You must be 17 on the date of admission.
None for the 2026-27 session. NCAHP's curriculum makes NEET the basis of admission, but the Commission has deferred that requirement for B.PT to 2027-28, so this year's admission runs on the basic eligibility and a merit list from your 10+2 marks. From 2027-28, expect to need NEET.

Physiotherapy is the rehabilitation profession: restoring movement after injury, surgery, stroke or long illness, in hospitals, sports clinics, private practice and increasingly in home care.
Two things changed in 2026, and most published advice has not caught up.
The degree is now five years, not four and a half. UGC raised it in August 2026, and the change applies to admissions from now on.
And NEET does not apply this year. NCAHP’s own curriculum says physiotherapy admission runs through NEET. But when the Commission tried to add B.PT to NEET UG 2026, the National Testing Agency and the Health Ministry said the exam could not absorb the extra candidates in time, and NCAHP deferred the requirement to 2027-28. So if you are applying for the 2026-27 session, your 10+2 marks and a merit list are what count. A year from now the answer will be different.
BPT sits in Category 3 of the schedule to the NCAHP Act, so it does have a national regulator. It is not, as some sites still claim, a course governed only by whichever university offers it.
