D.El.Ed. has an upper age limit of 35. M.Ed. needs at least 50% marks in B.Ed. or an equivalent teacher education course, or D.El.Ed. together with a graduation degree.

B.Ed.: UP B.Ed. JEE · D.El.Ed.: test in Bihar, merit elsewhere · M.Ed.: none set by NCTE
Full rules

B.Ed. in Uttar Pradesh runs through UP B.Ed. JEE. For D.El.Ed., Bihar runs an entrance test, while Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Delhi NCR admit on a merit list built from your qualifying marks. M.Ed. has no entrance test prescribed by NCTE: the state or the university sets the route.

Where we place students
Uttar Pradesh (Agra), Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi NCR

Verified against: NCTE (checked on 7 Oct 2026); Owner approval (written) (checked on 10 Sept 2026)

We place teaching students mainly in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and also in Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi NCR.

Three courses sit here, and they run in a line. D.El.Ed. prepares you to teach at the elementary level. B.Ed. is taken after a degree and leads to secondary school teaching. M.Ed. is taken after B.Ed.: it prepares you to train teachers rather than to teach children, and it is the route into teacher training colleges, school leadership and education research. We place M.Ed. students in Agra only.

The difference that catches most students out is who can apply for D.El.Ed. In Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi NCR you can join it straight after Class 12. In Uttar Pradesh the state asks for a degree first, so if Agra is where you want to study, D.El.Ed. is not the shortcut it looks like elsewhere.

For B.Ed. in Uttar Pradesh, admission runs through UP B.Ed. JEE, and we track its calendar for the students we work with. D.El.Ed. is different: Bihar is the only one of our four states that sets an entrance test, and the rest admit on a merit list from marks you already have. M.Ed. is different again: NCTE prescribes no entrance test for it, so the state or the university sets the route. We check the current notification for your state rather than working from last year’s.
