The two-year teaching qualification taken after a degree, leading to secondary school teaching.
View courseTeaching
The two-year degree taken after B.Ed., for teaching teachers and for school leadership.

NCTE prescribes no entrance examination for M.Ed. Admission is on merit from the marks in your qualifying examination, or through whatever selection process the state government or the university sets. We have not yet confirmed which applies at the colleges we work with, so ask us about the ones you are considering rather than assuming.

M.Ed. is the degree you take after B.Ed., and it does a different job from the two courses beside it. B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. prepare you to teach children. M.Ed. prepares you to teach the people who will teach them. NCTE describes it as the programme for teacher educators, curriculum developers, planners, school principals and education researchers.
It takes two years, full time, and both years carry work a classroom course does not: a field attachment of at least four weeks, and a research dissertation. You have up to three years from admission to finish, which is worth knowing if life gets in the way. The degree also carries a specialisation, either elementary education, up to Class 8, or secondary education, Classes 6 to 12.
The way in is at least 50% marks in B.Ed., B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed. or B.El.Ed., or in D.El.Ed. together with a graduation degree, with 50% in each. NCTE prescribes no entrance examination of its own: admission is on merit from your qualifying marks, or through whatever selection process the state government or the university sets. That makes the route a per-college question rather than a national one, so ask us before you apply anywhere. Reserved-category relaxation follows the state or Central Government rules and changes from year to year, so we check the current notification for your state rather than print a figure here.
We place M.Ed. students in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and nowhere else. If you are looking at another state, tell us early and we will say plainly whether we can help.
One thing the name hides: M.Ed. is not a first teaching qualification. You come to it with a B.Ed. already, so if you are at the start of the road, the course you want is B.Ed. or D.El.Ed.
